Youth held with 106 gold's bars in Sharsha
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a youth for possessing 106 gold bars measuring 12.500kg from Sharsha border on Tuesday (Oct 18).
The arrestee was identified as Saju Ahmed, 19, son of late Abdul Salam, hailing from Baro Kabilpur village of Chowgacha upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, members of BGB conducted a raid, arrested the accused and recovered the gold from Bangda point of Kashipur border under Sharsha upazila at 3 pm.
Commander of 49 BGB Lt Col Shahed Minhaj Siddiqui confirmed the matter.
He said, “We arrested a man and recovered gold worth around Tk 10 crore.
Proceeding to hand over the arrestee to the local police station and filing a case in this regard is under process, added the official.
